Dr. Courtney King, MD
Dr. Courtney King, MD is a medical doctor board certified in both Family Medicine and in Integrative Medicine. She is an IFM Functional Medicine Practitioner, a Medical Acupuncturist, and is also trained in Ayurvedic Medicine. As an advocate for science-based natural and holistic treatments in combination with prescriptive medication when needed, she finds and addresses the root cause of your dis-ease and personalizes a plan to get you on the path to your most vibrant health.
Courtney was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., and graduated from Brown University with a BA in Psychology. After graduation, she spent 2 years traveling around the world, climbing mountains, rafting rivers, and teaching scuba diving. These are still her passions today!
She attended the Medical College of Georgia, studied Complementary and Alternative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil in Tucson, studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Beijing, worked with a shaman in the Sacred Valley of Peru, and in off time did medical volunteer work in Africa throughout Ghana, Mali, Togo and Benin.
After med school, Dr. King did formal training in Medical Acupuncture through the Helms Institute, and completed a year long Ayurvedic Practitioner course at the Dhyana Center, before beginning her Family Medicine residency in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Since 2017, after practicing Integrative Medicine in confines of the conventional medical system for 7 years, Dr. Courtney has been privately practicing Functional and Integrative Medicine. She loves being a medical detective for patients who have been told “they are fine” by other doctors, when they know that they are not. Dr. Courtney creates more meaningful relationships with her patients, listens deeply, and uses a wide range of functional testing and labs to create better whole health outcomes.
Dr. Courtney’s current passion is combining this work with psychedelic therapies to help guide the mental and spiritual aspects of health that are paramount to physical healing and wholeness. She completed the 200 hour
Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy graduate program at Naropa University in 2023, which included the MAPS 40-hour MDMA training. She received her Colorado Clinical Psilocybin Facilitator license in 2025.
She lives in Fort Collins with her husband, 2 kids, dog and cat. In her spare time she loves hiking, snow skiing, live music, and traveling to new places.
