I have worked in a variety of psychiatric settings over the last 26 years and I love the process of making a genuine connection with each person who comes to see me. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, board certified in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing.
As an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive rights, I have worked with the general outpatient psychiatric population, with people living with chronic mental illness, HIV/AIDS, and chemical dependency. I am pleased to continue practicing my life work in this amazing collaborative setting. I really enjoy helping my patients understand their diagnoses and medication options. I recognize the importance of also teaching my patients about healthy food, other healthy lifestyle choices, self-compassion and the beauty of human connection in the healing of their lives.
I love the Integrative Psychiatry philosophy at the Wholeness Center where more alternatives for healing are offered. I look forward to continuing with patients I have seen for many years and getting to know new ones.
My off work time is often spent with family, three children and their spouses, and six active grandchildren. They always increase my joy and keep me laughing. I love reading, movies, bike rides, long walks and talks with my husband Tom, and spending time with friends. I practice meditation and believe seeking a spiritual path enriches our lives.
